(jsyk the alchemy in this form is 110% bullcrap.)
Name: Alexandre "Al" Arbor
Age: 15
Birthday: 9/18
Gender: Male
Category: Student
Class: High school
Grade: 10
College Major: N/A
Appearance Description:
Alexandre does not have very stand-out coloration nor fashion tastes. His hair is black, straight as a ruler but not as long, only going down to a point where it very nearly touches his neck. His fringe is often unmaintained and as such is a bit too long for comfort, but he swears that he is not scene. Probably the biggest contrast in his appearance of all is his hair against his pale skin. Mostly unblemished, his skin looks like he doesn't go outside too much - which is the truth. He has gray eyes, sharp in shape and usually a little lidded, if not from tiredness then from irritation. Or that's just how his eyes are. The irises are a medium-gray, with enough depth that he guesses they can be called stormy in coloration.
Al stands at about 5'7" with a lithe frame, more supple than built, as is quite obvious at first glance. He quite enjoys wearing several layers of clothing even if it is not really that cold, and thus, over whatever tee or long-sleeve he's wearing on a given day, there is probably also a coat, and sometimes a scarf (you never know, those winter months are coming fast). He usually couples any random pair of pants with boots, because that is how cool kids roll (no, he just has almost an inch of platform on them, and he likes being taller). Hats are optional but he quite likes them, as they make his bangs look less long when he can tuck them up under a brim.

Personality Description:
Al is not a very exciting person. In fact, he is about as interesting as watching paint dry, and may actually be the type of person who is fascinated by asinine activities like that. He is almost awkwardly polite, speaking with a kind of curious detachment that is frankly a little strange but balances itself out in the attachment department with the curiosity vs. detachment so that he is actually pretty normal on that scale. Smart, but unwilling to demonstrate many skills, he usually sits back as a bystander and watches other people do things instead of participating himself unless it is for a grade. This especially applies to sports, which he has no aptitude in at all.

Powers:
Alexandre is an alchemist, but not in the traditional sense. He cannot alter molecules of inorganic substances, in this case inorganic meaning non-living. The flipside to this would be, of course, that he can manipulate living matter by shifting the atoms and parts of the atoms themselves, altering matters on a submicroscopic scheme; this makes him more of a shapeshifter than anything, but built in stolidly scientific foundations. He uses this power to alter small parts of himself for fighting; he can shift the iron in his blood from being, well, in his blood to hardening into a blade outside of his body, and because of the slightly fantastical nature of how things work for him, his body can accommodate for a temporary loss in any element, but only for up to an hour before he has to let the iron back into his blood or face severe iron deficiency.

Biography:
Alexandre grew up in a family of mixed magic/science professions. Of course, any alchemist's ultimate goal is to create philosopher's stones as well as to garner the power to make metals into gold, a power which his lineage was coming close to achieving. However, the most efficient way to turn minerals into gold was to alter the atomic makeup itself and disperse the stray electrons/protons/neutrons, and while it was doable in theory, when Al was born it only worked on organic matter, the reason for that being that organic cells shifted much more rapidly than atoms of an inorganic substance and were much easier to alter in any way.
Rather than helping his family perfect the metal-to-gold technique or the philosopher's stone, Al instead spent his time trying to perfect the organic matter transmutation. He thought it much more interesting and potentially more dangerous, so he wanted mastery of it before anyone else. Thus, from a young age, that was what he worked on: mastery of organic transmutation. He has improved much of the technique; before, when he lost the iron, it was gone until his body made more. Now it can be successfully reabsorbed into the bloodstream, and the skill can be used with much less danger. However, he still wanted to learn more about what he could do to control and refine it; thus he sought out St. Juno's and took up a residence there as a student in hopes of doing so.

Additional Information:
Because a perfect transmutation will never happen in regards to his imperfect powers, Al is often eating foods rich in iron and other minerals. These include meat (except seafood, tastes bad), spinach, other greens, and cereal/granola bars. At any given moment, it's not exactly odd to see him snacking on something.
